Somerset Logistics is seeking full time employees to work as outside sales representatives across the United States. An outside sales representative will assist in the conduct of sales/contact calls to potential customers to enable Somerset to expand market share in assigned regions (nationwide locations). The core function of an outside sales representative is to promote/sell/secure truck load shipments from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach of physical visits to customer sites. The outside sales representative will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers using technical knowledge/expertise, integrity, passion, and in-person presentational skills. Individuals should have outstanding communication and customer service skills. Somerset prefers individuals who have college degree, at least one year of sales experience and understand the transportation business.
The Transportation Specialist does a range of duties to support Somerset's customers. Their main duties are coordinating and synchronizing the daily load activities by talking with customers and carriers to ensure that each transaction is picked up and delivered on time. They are Somerset's direct liaison between the manufacturer/supplier, carrier, and the receiver. They will use BrokerWeb and on-line systems including Transcore3Sixty, Internet Truckstop.com, Getloaded.com as well as other software to assist in providing superior transportation solutions. They are in charge of accurately entering and maintaining real time information in our software program (BrokerWeb). They will maintain contact and communicate with carriers and customers throughout each transaction to ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, they conduct sales calls to potential customers as well as make contact calls to locate carriers for loads.
We are seeking part time employees who have experience conducting contact calls. They will assist Somerset in expanding market share by conducting contact calls to potential customers. Additionally, they will assist administrative personnel, process individual transportation transactions and follow-up documentation. They will ensure carriers are properly licensed and we have their authority status and rating with the Department of Transportation correct and on file. They will have a working knowledge of Transportation Specialists duties and be able to direct and inform customers concerning their particular transactions. Individuals should have outstanding communication and customer service skills. Somerset prefers individuals who have had at least one year of sales experience and understand the trucking business.
